In Chapter 5 of Healing is Your Birthright: Claim It! There is mention of the story of Bartimaeus, the blind beggar. He heard that Jesus was coming and called out to be healed. The crowds rebuked him, they told him to be quiet. But he wouldn’t. He called again and again.
Jesus stopped. He must have known what Bartimaeus wanted, but asked, “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Rabbi,” said Bartimaeus, “let me recover my sight!” Jesus responded, “Go your way, your faith has made you well.”
Bartimaeus didn’t hesitate. He boldly called out and would not be silenced. Jesus made him ask for healing.
It was Bartimaeus’ faith that he would be healed that actually healed him. Jesus said, “Your faith has made you well!”
Remember this when you are seeking spiritual guidance, support and healing. Be persistent, be strong in your faith. Look away from matter based thinking and lean heavily on God, on Spirit.
